(Written a while back, but pretty much all still true, so here you go!)
Before I start sharing my insights into the world around me, I thought I'd introduce myself.
I'm Rebecca. Or Becca to my nieces and nephews. I know some really great Beckys, but no one that I'm aware of calls me that, it's not really me. Don't get me wrong, I'm by no stretch of the imagination a formal person, but the longer name seems to fit.
Anyway, who am I? I am a Realtor, and I really love real estate. I previously worked in the Hospitality Interior Design industry (read: interior design for hotels), which has given me a strong background in aesthetics and the way a space would look its best. Anytime you want to debate light bulb color and how it affects your space, give me a buzz. I enjoy the transactional and client service aspects of real estate, but I also get a bit nerdy on digging into market research, learning about a new topic, and don't get me started about the potentials of financing.
Okay, I'll change topics now, but it's safe to say I've found my happy place.
I'm a wife to the best of men, Kevin, who I met in college. Though I was somewhat aware of him from the beginning, we started seeing each other seriously after I hit him in the lip with a piece of ice. This sounds like it could be a post on it's own, so maybe I'll save that for Valentine's Day. Anyway, he is the best, a true partner in every sense of the word.
I'm also a Mom, to a wonderful kid, well, teenager, who would be horrified if he knew I was writing a blog. I'm a sister, a twin, to a phenomenal woman. I'm sure she'll come up in future postings if she'll let me, but let me share that we haven't always been as close as we are now, and though we are twins, we are very unique individuals, and different from one other. She's amazing though, and I'm very proud of her and grateful that we have one another.
I live in Cypress, TX which is a suburb on the northwest side of Houston. I've lived in the area since 1986, with a few interruptions for college and job commitments. It's a great community, though a big one!
And to close, why am I writing this blog? Well, I love to write. A lot. I love words and connotation, and how the right combination of the perfectly selected words can make someone's heart warm or cause a tear, or simply share information I am excited about having the opportunity to put my words out there. I hope they are well received, they are definitely well intentioned. So, that's a little bit about me. I thank you for reading, and welcome any comments or questions you may have!
Love,
Rebecca
